Triple victory for Young Fighter to retain POLNETA title at Peter Mokaba Stadium

After more than 2 months coming to the tournament during sunny, windy, misty also rainy days traveling to the competition with the aggression of being the champion of Polneta 2021 campaign, finally it has came with great and amazing news to celebrate upon.
This tournament it was established early 2017/18 with the benefit of developing netball in different rural and kasi, in 2019 the delay took it's toll when the world was attacked by the COVID-19 pandemic they had to put everything to a stand still. Previous year the tournament continued and players had opportunities
to be part of different district and chosen to participate in provincial team. Twelve teams took part in the finals where it's four teams per category, the atmosphere had a lot of positive vibe for all teams that took part. This campaign took place at Polokwane Netball Courts next to Peter Mokaba Stadium, in Capricorn District, Limpopo.

Twelve teams took part in the finals where it's four teams per category, the atmosphere had a lot of positive vibe for all teams that took part. This campaign took place at Polokwane Netball Courts next to Peter Mokaba Stadium, in Capricorn District, Limpopo.
The competition was graced by President of Netball South Africa Cecilia Molokwane, Polokwane Sports Confederation and Polokwane Municipality.
Sunnyboy Mailane, Manyathela Edward (Player of the tournament Twizza 2021/22), Matsimela ThabangKamogelo Meso Team Manager of Rising Stars, and Cecilia's daughter. Male netball players of Rising Stars.
Edward and Kamogelo when we spoke with them about their role in this tournament shared that they are there to umpire, but apart from that they came to support the campaign to set a good example to the players, for them to see people whom they always see on TV.

The finals between Young Fighter vs Home Stars
The finals was great to witness as this teams came with a fiery performance, great attack also good defense yet before half time it was a tight one for both teams as Seshego fighters took a lead of 8-7 Home Stars was under pressure.

Young fighters came by shooting those goals and Stars fought with all that they had, unfortunately Fighters gave their all to maintain their victory. They gave Stars a hard time but they were relaxed, as they have claimed their first victory by 16-12.

Head Coach of Home Stars Tshepo Mabotja mentioned that he is happy with the performance of the girls, even though he still need to make few amendments in the team " I'm very happy with the performance of my girls, they faced their opponents being scared for they are a big team but I am going to teach them to not listen to the cheering more but be more focused on the game..."

He later added that "...I blame myself for not teaching them when people cheer you must focus on the game not the cheer."

Both teams started on confidence level on high note. Aces started at a bad end, as Fighters on first half they lead by 12-6. Aloes tried to make a come back but their performance was inconsistent and unfortunately Fighters kept throwing the balls in the net maximizing their victory. Left them with 20-11 points claiming the second victory.

Head Coach of Green Aloes Keletso Selepe denominated that "I'm not really disappointed, I'm happy with my teams performance after playing with Young Fighters they really outdone themselves..."
Aforementioned " irregardless of them second half they slacked, I think the best thing is to encourage them here and there. Yeah I will see what to do with them..."

President Cecilia announcing the three learners who will be awarded bursaries
During the campaign President made an announcement that Esther Thoka who is 15 years, in grade 10, Maria Lemekwana in grade 9, 14 years and Rethabile Matlebjane in grade 9 just 15 years will be awarded bursaries to go study in Johannesburg at a school that is netball dedicated. Esther had an opportunity to greet and have a little chit chat with national coach of Netball yet more will be communicated when the team comes back from Dublin.

She kept on emphasizing that "I've got an eye for talent. It's not the first talent I have identified, I have identified talent in many districts that I have gone to but I'm here today because charity begins at home..."
"I have seen this talent that is here, the three kids believe you in me they are going far, they are going places. I have already spoken to the national coach of this country to say 'here is the kid that I have identified, please try and get her a school and get her there'. She is going to do that because whatever I say it should go anyway because of we are not focusing on certain teams, people think I am the owner of Rising Stars, I can only work for Rising Stars kids. I am the president of all netball players in the country and I will do anything for all the netball player..."
Molokwane is quite excited for u18 girls champions for scooping the championship. Aforesaid she is a proud Limpopian and the proud moments arise when Limpopo does good, cited that two of the girls from her team were selected during the championship.

On her closing remarks "It was for the first time we had male championship in South Africa giving the males that kind of exposure. I'm happy and I have declared it annual tournament because I believe the males should be given opportunity to play, they are affiliate of netball South Africa at the end of the day..."

Meanwhile people have that perspective of why males have to play netball!!
President closed by giving an intriguing statement "there's nothing wrong with males play netball, if girls can play football, cricket and rugby what is wrong with males playing netball?
"We must put it in our mindset that we must stop judging, we must be a society that is not judging people we must accept people for who they are and the sport they love. Male netball is played by any kind of male that want to play netball. So to me it's netball YES! but it's dominantly played by women that's a fact we can't runaway from..."

The Young Fighters led from start to finish against Rising Stars to win the game by 23-20. It was a great game to watch, see off sides made by both teams as well as the fouls together with handling and stepping.

This teams played on three quarters and it was roller coaster ride for Stars. Fighters hard slash has made them champions yet again on all categories.
Rising Stars coach Edward indicated " I feel a bit disappointed and rejected, but you know what congratulations to Young Fighters , they are a better team they came to play and our players did their best"
"We are going to work on defense structure inside the circle and make sure we work on the rebounds because today that's where we lost the game and our defenders couldn't get rebounds."

Young Fighters closed the gates by taking all the trophies yet the trophy is floating you have to defend it three times until it lands in your trophy cabinet.
