Naledi Spiders Queens and Kings are the champions of Limpopo Softball Association Super League

This season of Limpopo Softball Super League has been amazing, fulfilling, more drama, more action, more tension, more sorrows and exciting moments shared in the pitch yet all athletes maintained their commitment and discipline when it was play-offs time. All stakeholders ensured that they also do their part and participants play their role.

On Saturday it was the final play-offs of  Super League where teams got crowned with trophies and medals after their play-offs, the Softball South Africa, Limpopo Sports Confederation also LSA was available to witness the great moment in the province of Limpopo and congratulate the winners for their massive hard work.

NALEDI Spiders produced a classical brand of ball game to win the Limpopo Softball Association (LSA) Super League in both the men and women divisions on Saturday at Seshego diamonds.
Spiders “Ladies In red” narrowly beat Mankweng Pioneers 10-9 while their men handed Moletlane Texas 2-0 drubbing to be crowned the LSA 2020/21 kings and queens.

Congratulations are in order for Peter “Kelly” Sekhaolelo, the brain and driving force behind Spiders transformation agenda. Sekhaolelo has always been the glue that binds the club, and his cheerful post-match celebration was justifiable. The team from rural Ga-Mashashane has been in tiptop from since the commencement of the elite provincial league and on Saturday they were adequately rewarded with gold medals and a floating trophy. Ladies team are 4 years in a row champions and they are still maintaining their style of play.

Both the men and women sides finished the season comfortably at the top of the long standings to book their grand finale berth.
In what was dubbed “The Final Before The Final”, Texas put on a brave performance to beat star-studded Seshego Raiders with a slender 4-3 score line in the last inning of the game.
Although Raiders were firm favourites to march to the grand finale given their avalanche of veterans, Texas managed to stage a last-minute comeback to march the finals.

In the final encounter of pitchers, Spiders’ Lucas Lamola led from the mound with fiery missiles while Texas relied heavily on the puzzling changeups from the flexible arm of Kagiso “Seun” Aphane.

Both Lamola and Aphane are the embodiment of a phenomenon that, from a Limpopo perspective, the game’s pitching is still intact.

Tshepo Rakoma died a brutal death

Image: Social Media Kibi Josias Leboho who is 34 years old assertedly shot and executed his partner in the parking area of Polokwane at Shoprite Supermarket, on corner Grobler and Landros Mare Street 6th May 2021 (Thursday afternoon). Bullets perforated her body, she was found inside a motor vehicle in the parking area, it's avowed that when Leboho arrived at the shopping centre, an argument rose between them and he took a firearm and shot her countlesly, eventually she died on the spot. Thabang Letsoalo the Chairman of Polokwane Softball Association is very proud of the progress of teams because this initiative is all about developing teams in the communities and nurture their skills and talents for them to be better players.They are happy with the level of play and the improvement of the teams. Since the league has started there are no injuries from any teams, because all the teams have prepared very well, meanwhile Mentz Spartans lost their 2 games with mercy rule.  They hosted 1st playoffs on the 13th December and the game that was supposed to happen on the 16th was postponed due to rain, and 'the pitch was not playable'.They had playoffs on the 20th December last Sunday at Seshego. Limpopo Softball Association: Fight for Survival at the Super League grinds the jaws

Match between Moletlane Texas and Seshego Raider s Limpopo Softball Association is yet in another season of Super League Campaign where "Fight for Survival" makes teams to toss and turn, as-well as shiver and mumble to be on top to qualify for the finals. This Super League has kick-started on the 27 December 2020, unfortunately due to restrictions of COVID-19 pandemic they had to pause a bit until resumption on 22 March 2021.   Match between Black Beads vs Fast Feet Development Centre Under 11 (Image: Dorothy Mokoena) Fast Feet DC wrapped up their game at Seshego Stadium Zone 1 against Black Beats on a clean sheet, as they shared points both on 0-0. Friendly game in preparation of the tournament to happen next month. Fast Feet DC required treatment and the battle on the middle field, with slim chances to net.
