Limpopo Softball Association: Fight for Survival at the Super League grinds the jaws

Match between Moletlane Texas and Seshego Raiders

Limpopo Softball Association is yet in another season of Super League Campaign where "Fight for Survival" makes teams to toss and turn, as-well as shiver and mumble to be on top to qualify for the finals. This Super League has kick-started on the 27 December 2020, unfortunately due to restrictions of COVID-19 pandemic they had to pause a bit until resumption on 22 March 2021.

Super League Campaign has 13 teams ladies and 10 teams males, who are practicing very hard to scoop the reward awaiting after being announced champions of new season. Meanwhile both males and females league campaign continues every Saturday (ladies) and Sunday (Men), to see who will be the immaculate champions of season 2020/2021.At Cricket Club Polokwane and Seshego Grounds, the Frozen Rope bats to Dinger.

LIMPOPO Softball Association (LSA) log leaders, Seshego Raiders were handed their worst ever defeat by a stubborn Moletlane Texas who swept them 11-0 at the Polokwane Cricket Grounds on Easter Monday.
After completing their first round of the 2020/21 league season on a high note, lost only to Texas in their campaign, the two teams effectively pitched-off their second round.
It was a good day for Texas who made their intentions clear that they seeking redemption following a lackluster start.

Texas not only overcame Raiders, they humiliated them by exposing their laxity with bat and lapse of concentration in their defense when it mattered most.
Texas’ victory over Raiders was the second in succession after the Sebitiela side narrowly claimed victory against Seshego-based outfit with a slender 3-2 margin last Sunday.





Since the commencement of the season, Raiders have been collecting maximum points as they heaped an avalanche of runs – thanks to their bating belligerence.
Although Raiders’ fielding hasn’t been an impenetrable one, they have been able to contain opposition batter within the in-diamond.

They are comfortably perched at their summit, but persistent errors could obliterate their title aspirations.
Raiders have depth of veterans’ experience and longevity in the game but Texas pride themselves with youthful exuberance.





Benny Boshomane Provincial Guardian is happy with the progress of league campaign and all teams are up and doing wonders under his guidance. He cited that, As the season becomes more interesting and juicy to the core Ladies Season ends on the 8 May 2021 and Males Season ends later on the 16 May 2021.

Its Softball action all the way, unfortunately the pandemic has robbed us of the social part of the Ball Game, because Its a No Spectators Allowed for Now. The weekend of the 10th both Men and Women will be in a training camp at the Cricket Club preparing for National Provincial Championships to be held in Gauteng from the 25th April to 1st May 2021. Both Coaches Nakedi Raphalo _ Males and Biya Matlala _ Women are ready for the Challenge and wants to the Glory days back to Limpopo The Home of Softball.
The likes of Space, Thandi and Naymer are ready showing a lot of maturity as well as the up and coming Boys like Seun, Lucas, Silver, Clifford, Kamo plus Jan are knocking on the door National Senior Men door. Support from Technical, Club Officials and SSA with its grand is much welcomed and Appreciated Big up to Media houses for next-door

Tshepo Rakoma died a brutal death

Image: Social Media Kibi Josias Leboho who is 34 years old assertedly shot and executed his partner in the parking area of Polokwane at Shoprite Supermarket, on corner Grobler and Landros Mare Street 6th May 2021 (Thursday afternoon). Bullets perforated her body, she was found inside a motor vehicle in the parking area, it's avowed that when Leboho arrived at the shopping centre, an argument rose between them and he took a firearm and shot her countlesly, eventually she died on the spot. Thabang Letsoalo the Chairman of Polokwane Softball Association is very proud of the progress of teams because this initiative is all about developing teams in the communities and nurture their skills and talents for them to be better players.They are happy with the level of play and the improvement of the teams. Since the league has started there are no injuries from any teams, because all the teams have prepared very well, meanwhile Mentz Spartans lost their 2 games with mercy rule.  They hosted 1st playoffs on the 13th December and the game that was supposed to happen on the 16th was postponed due to rain, and 'the pitch was not playable'.They had playoffs on the 20th December last Sunday at Seshego. Friendly game in preparation of the tournament to happen next month. Fast Feet DC required treatment and the battle on the middle field, with slim chances to net.
