Sekhukhune District is situated in the bloomy province of Limpopo and is one rural area that is very adventurous for it's mountainous, rocky and filled with naturals atmosphere, also it has numerous museums, agri-tourism, diverse attraction components that can create job-opportunity when they are well taken care of. The district is one of those that has low infrastructure even though bit by bit developments are showering, they travel a distance to reach all their necessities.

Limpopo Tourism Agency (LTA) collaborated with (LEDET) Limpopo Economic Development, Environment and Tourism alongside other stake-holders, launched Tourism Month on the 31st August 2021 at Black Aloe Waterfront Resort, and before the launch various media houses participated in different activities like your Boat Cruising in the Flag Boshielo Dam(Arubi), Tubing, walking trails and Game drive in the Schuindraai Nature Reserve, this activities were mind refreshing.

We also went to the Museum of Bushman Rock Shelter we got to be learned of the equipment used in the olden days to slaughter animals and saw fossils of ancient animals, the tour guide shared a-lot of information about the history of Bushman Rock Shelter. 

Boeketlong Lodge & Pub they are an establishment that has all the entertainment one can think of and they have nice bachelors that accommodate single visitor, couples/friends and also family. They will be hosting their first ever spin event as they do the grant opening of their establishment on the 24th September.

Mr and Mrs Tembe the owners of Zai Oat Hotel, the establishment that is found in Jane Furse as it was named after the late father of Mr Laduma Tembe, they have bigger plans for the establishment that will blow your mind to the fullest and you will feel royalty when you go visit them.


At the Kingdom of Maesela-Dlamini they shared their history as to where they come from and they showed us a chair that is build for their king, a place where they store water and it was intriguing to listen also learn of different cultures that still connect with Bapedi.

At Tsate Valley they shared how they came about the valley and the history of Kgosi Mampuru, they shared with us how they praise the gods to listen to their prayers.

Went to Kgosi Mampuru II statue and additional history was shared. Visited Ga-Matlala kingdom in Ephraim Mogale Municipality they shared sentiments of the bird, that it makes sounds on every occasion and those sounds are known by them as to which one is for danger and which one is for excitement and joy.

Sekhukhune Gospel Choir was showering us with hymns and melodies that even broke the leg of Mec Thabo Mokone before he could deliver his speech for official opening of Tourism Month.


Mayor of Ephraim Mogale Municipality Cllr. Molaudi Mothogwane, alongside various councilors and Kings as well as Kingdoms graced the event with their presence. Cllr. Mothogwane, welcomed the guests and acknowledged the hostage of tourism month being in the district.

Mokone when he delivered his speech shared the importance of uplifting domestic tourism in  Sekhukhune District added that "As we are here today, we want the people of Sekhukhune to benefit from what we do as Government during this Tourism Month Campaign as we will be here for the next two days, but I still come back here to explore Sekhukhune with Executive Mayor of this region, Cllr. Stan Ramaila. We did our utmost to ensure that Fetakgomo-Tubatse Special Economic Zone goes through and to date 34 million has been budgeted for this project. We want to see Sekhukhune also keeping pace with other districts of this province".



Executive Mayor of Sekhukhune District Cllr. Stan Ramaila appreciated Mec Thabo Mokone for continuous support and the efforts of economic growth in Sekhukhune. Shared gratitude of approval upon the R34 million of Fetakgomo-Tubatse SEZ.

On that day Sales Man who is a comedian from Limpopo bombarded us with his hilarious jokes that had the attendees rolling on the floor, soaked their luxurious attire with tears of laughter from this talented young man. He closed the night with style. 

One of the key factors they hosted Lekgotla was to promote domestic tourism in the province and increase the economy of the province through Tourism, as Limpopo (Waterberg mostly visited district) is one province that is visited by different tourists like your hunters, rangers and other travelors.

Setsong Indigenous Tea Plant they welcomed the visitors who came to see their plant, they showed us the process that they use to make their tea as they use natural plants to make the tea. Their tea is said to help with your Bedroom Recipe, Period Pains one of the influencers Seopa Mahlaku drank it helped her, cleans your system and all other work you never expected. They have tea that comes with different flavors and their gin is Village gin.

 Today is the end of MAHALA WEEK that started on the 6th -12th September the Wildlife Resorts that are participating in Limpopo are: Lekgalameetse, D'Nyala, Nylsvlei, Doorndraai, Rust de Winter, Mokolo, Schuinsdraai, Wolkberg, Makuya, Nwanedi and Blouberg Nature Reserve. 
This Mahala Week is a way of promoting and educating the community about Wildlife Resorts also enhance the spirit of travelling and do awareness of nature conservation.


Closed the second week of tourism month with style

Tourism Month is one of the ways to encourage travelers to stretch their legs and mindset, explore new things that they have never explored and adventured, through traveling to different atmosphere for fresh air and taking a short left.
