Ward 12 (Zone 4) Community meeting about crime and patrols

 

Tshepo Nkwe Ward 12 councilor and Polokwane Municipality MMC for Housing

Seshego Zone 4 is considered as one of the locations that is more busy, also with it's prestigious "beach front" where most people busk in the sun and shades endeavor on their cold-drinks. It is an atmosphere that has 9 entrances.

Previous weeks and months few incidents happened in the vicinity of zone 4, where some houses got broken into, a lady got mugged early morning going to work and another young-lady they took her purse from the clinic in brought day light, also this perpetrators they threaten and harass residents of  zone 4 when they go to and from school, work and clinic.

Let' s embark on what transpired during the community meeting

On Wednesday the SCACAG and Ward 12 committee as-well as councilor Tshepo Nkwe at zone 4 sports ground next to clinic, hosted community meeting to give heads up on how we can prevent crime and initiate patrols after curfew also during the day.

The community also coughed out their issues and some way forward on how to work things out was found, eventually some residents left with their questions being answered.

Vincent Kunutu Chairperson of SCACAG dropped by starting to thank the residents of zone 4 and instanced "we are going to start with street patrols, we have identified that we have about 9 entry points so we are going to manage them bearing in mind the curfew time and regulations, because at that time that's when those criminals are taking advantage. We will apply for permits and engage police, we are starting with street patrols, by so doing we will manage the movement of criminals."

Re kgopela banna ba rena ba zone 4 ge hlaga e swa ba emise dihlogo, ka ge bosenyi bo fenywa ge rele ngatana e tee.").

One of the key factors was the contributions of R20 every household to help with reflectors and other aspects of patrol as far is concerned. More updates will be shared soon upon the procedure of contributions.

Today Friday the 18th June 2021 all gentleman of Seshego Zone 4, are requested for a session at sports ground next  to clinic. The grouping and committee on how will the patrol head on to be discussed further, meanwhile others will head to patrol at instance.
