SUSPENSION OF PLANNED ACTIVITIES BY NETBALL SOUTH AFRICA

The President of Netball South Africa (NSA) Ms. Cecilia Molokwane,and her Executive Committee came to an agreement of suspending planned netball activities due to the increasing number of cases being reported on a daily basis,with immediate effect from 8 January 2021.






The  planned activities that were scheduled are Under 21 training camp for the 11-15 January,The Spar Challenge in Cape Town to be held between 20 and 27 January 2021 and the Male National Championships.The postponement of this activities is because of the decision that was taken aiming to protect the lives of their players, members, stakeholders and partners.



She emphasized on the current situation we are faced with said "As the country continues to see COVID-19 numbers rising,it is very scary seeing what is going on around us.We see numbers rising these numbers are names of people that we know.As an Executive,it was very important for us to take decision to postpone all our planned activities until further notice.We will continue to take lead from government and consult all relevant stakeholders as we take all the much needed steps to ensure that we protect lives".


The assessment and monitoring of the situation by the President and Netball South Africa Events, meanwhile consulting with the Department of Sports,Arts and Culture will still continue in terms of taking the best decision for the sporting code.

In conclusion Molokwane said "I think it is also important that we take this time and continue to use this moment to educate our people about the importance of adhering to health regulations and protocols around COVID".

The federation is continuing to assess and reviewing their decision on when they will continue with suspended events or either they remain suspended.They also plead with members to minimise all forms of traveling,to do so when necessary 'as  the virus does not move unless people move it'.

Tshepo Rakoma died a brutal death

Image: Social Media Kibi Josias Leboho who is 34 years old assertedly shot and executed his partner in the parking area of Polokwane at Shoprite Supermarket, on corner Grobler and Landros Mare Street 6th May 2021 (Thursday afternoon). Bullets perforated her body, she was found inside a motor vehicle in the parking area, it's avowed that when Leboho arrived at the shopping centre, an argument rose between them and he took a firearm and shot her countlesly, eventually she died on the spot. Polokwane Softball League road to the quarter finals

Thabang Letsoalo the Chairman of Polokwane Softball Association is very proud of the progress of teams because this initiative is all about developing teams in the communities and nurture their skills and talents for them to be better players.They are happy with the level of play and the improvement of the teams. Since the league has started there are no injuries from any teams, because all the teams have prepared very well, meanwhile Mentz Spartans lost their 2 games with mercy rule.  They hosted 1st playoffs on the 13th December and the game that was supposed to happen on the 16th was postponed due to rain, and 'the pitch was not playable'.They had playoffs on the 20th December last Sunday at Seshego. Match between Moletlane Texas and Seshego Raider s Limpopo Softball Association is yet in another season of Super League Campaign where "Fight for Survival" makes teams to toss and turn, as-well as shiver and mumble to be on top to qualify for the finals. This Super League has kick-started on the 27 December 2020, unfortunately due to restrictions of COVID-19 pandemic they had to pause a bit until resumption on 22 March 2021.   Match between Black Beads vs Fast Feet Development Centre Under 11 (Image: Dorothy Mokoena) Fast Feet DC wrapped up their game at Seshego Stadium Zone 1 against Black Beats on a clean sheet, as they shared points both on 0-0. Friendly game in preparation of the tournament to happen next month. Fast Feet DC required treatment and the battle on the middle field, with slim chances to net.
