Netball SA announced the squad for Uganda Test Series
Netball South Africa (NSA) they have confirmed the squad of Proteas that will take Uganda on next month (next year) for their 3-test match series on Monday.
The team was announced after the National Championship that was held in Bela-Bela.Proteas will be hosting the Uganda team at the Spar Challenge that will be held on the 20-27 January 2021 in Cape Town.
South Africa and Uganda aswell NSA they have confirmed that 'Infant' Proteas (under 21) President Xll,Uganda under 21,& Namibia will also participate in this series.
Cecilia Molokwane President of NSA stated that this series is a perfect build-up opportunity to the 2023 Netball World Cup.
She also said "I have full confidence in the teams that have been put together by both coaches and I know for sure that they are not going to Cape Town just to add numbers,but they are going there to compete & make sure that they get the best out of our players".
Coach Dorette Badenhorst said "The series against Uganda who are ranked 7th in the world is part of our preparations for the Netball World Cup.This tournament will urge us closer to building teams for the 2021 Netball Youth World Championships,the 2022 Common Wealth Games and lastly the 2023 Netball World Cup. This is another opportunity for us to give the Proteas team international exposure & ranking games,we are thankful for that at this difficult time in the world".
Head Coach Badenhorst agreed that their opponents Uganda they are going to be challenged to the fullest.
